As a Residential Support Worker, you will contribute to a compassionate, accountable, and collaborative team dedicated to recovery-oriented care. During the probationary period, you will be expected to demonstrate leadership capabilities, a strong understanding of The CCG Way, and the ability to support a positive team culture.

Primary Responsibilities

We are seeking reliable and experienced Residential Support Workers with strong housekeeping abilities. Meal preparation skills are an asset.

Strong Assets (Two Profile Options)

You may apply with strengths in either or both areas:

  • Admin Support Asset: Provides organized administrative support including documentation updates, reporting, scheduling, and coordination of program activities to ensure smooth group-home operations.
  • Service Coordination Asset: Assists with service-support coordination, including community referrals, appointment follow-up, progress tracking, and communication updates to the resident care team following established procedures.

Core Responsibilities (All Staff)

  • Provide direct support and care to residents according to individualized support/care plans.
  • Offer emotional and behavioral support to adults and older adults with mental health and addiction challenges.
  • Support residents in daily living routines, skill development, and community integration.
  • Facilitate wellness, recreational, and group activities promoting resident well-being.
  • Assist residents in connecting to medical, social, and community resources as needed.
  • Maintain accurate, timely documentation in compliance with CCG policies and supportive living standards.
  • Ensure a clean, safe, and supportive home environment.
  • Uphold policies, procedures, confidentiality standards, and recovery-oriented care principles.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support smooth operations.

Minimum Qualifications & Skills

  • Community Support Worker or Health Care Aide certificate (or equivalent training/experience) – asset
  • Minimum 2 years' experience supporting individuals experiencing homelessness, addictions, mental health challenges, chronic illnesses, or trauma (required)
  • Strong leadership, teamwork, and communication skills (preferred)
  • Demonstrated understanding of supportive housing program operations
  • Competence with computers and electronic record management
  • First Aid/CPR C (required)
  • Medication administration training/certificate (required)
  • Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) training (required)
  • Knowledge of trauma-informed practice
  • Knowledge of harm reduction and recovery-oriented care
  • Knowledge of Mental Health First Aid
  • Knowledge of WHMIS and Food Safety Basics
  • Understanding of Indigenous cultural diversity and Canadian multicultural contexts; LGBTQ2S-inclusive practice
  • Strong awareness of local community resources
  • Clear Vulnerable Sector Police Check (required)
  • Recent negative TB test & up-to-date immunizations (preferred)
  • Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle (required)
