Addictions & Mental Health Recovery Worker

**Your Opportunity**:
The Addictions and Mental Health Recover Worker will be the primary support for people in the home through the provision of support and interventions developed by the interdisciplinary team (consisting of Behavior Specialists, Recreation Therapists and Occupational Therapists). Interventions designed for the individuals will be based on the individual's presentation and his/her goals. The Recovery Support Worker will work both with the individual, family and natural supports, as well as staff from other agencies involved in the individual's life. He/she will play a key role in assisting with the assessment of the person and their pursuit of individual goals. Working closely with the professional staff, the RSW will provide individual interventions for interpersonal, intrapersonal and/or environmental adaptations which will promote the level of independence of their quality of life and their participation in community life. The Recovery Support worker will develop competencies through a highly specialized capacity building home which will involve a sound home philosophy as well as skill development through role modeling, observation, discussion and teaching. Location will be at Multi sites.
**Description**:
As an Addiction and Mental Health Recovery Worker, you will contribute to the delivery of community based services to persons with a chronic addiction and/or severe and persistent mental illness using psychosocial rehabilitation principles, promoting client respect, autonomy, health and improved quality of life. Your duties will include carrying out assigned tasks in a client focused recovery plan which includes support to participate in activities of daily living, recreational and social activities, and educational and employment activities. You will work collaboratively with other health and service providers. In this position, you will work under the direction of a regulated health provider.
Completion of diploma from a post-secondary program in a related field or equivalent.
