WHATS THE TEAM LIKE
The facility maintenance team ensures the smooth operation of all indoor spaces at the busy 24/7 airport, keeping terminals, offices, and other buildings safe, functional, and well-maintained. They handle repairs, HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems to support airport operations and passenger comfort. Their work is critical to maintaining a clean, efficient, and welcoming environment for travelers and staff.
WHAT ARE SOME OF THE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Plan and schedule preventive maintenance for all mechanical systems and equipment, including HVAC, refrigeration, air distribution, jet bridges, elevators, moving walks, escalators, pumps, compressors, heat exchangers, piping, fire suppression, control systems, and ground support equipment.
- Develop, manage, and implement audit programs for inspections and preventive maintenance effectiveness, collaborating with operations, engineering, and maintenance teams.
- Create and manage detailed work plans, including tools, parts, labor, safety protocols, and bill of materials, and coordinate with vendors and contractors for repairs and upgrades.
- Collaborate with the maintenance management system team to improve maintenance reporting, asset management plans, and utilize Maximo for tracking performance metrics and maintenance history.
- Serve as the technical custodian for all mechanical asset data/information, ensuring accurate records, asset history, and compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Plan and coordinate maintenance shutdowns and upgrade projects, ensuring alignment with compliance schedules and operational needs.
- Develop and implement predictive maintenance techniques, conduct root cause failure analysis, and lead continuous improvement initiatives for equipment reliability and safety.
- Ensure all maintenance activities comply with airport safety regulations, fire codes, mechanical codes, and environmental regulations.
WHAT DO YOU NEED TO BRING

- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering/Reliability. Relevant professional experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.
- 6–8 years of progressive experience in mechanical maintenance planning and reliability engineering, including at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
- Proven experience managing large-scale mechanical systems in critical infrastructure (airports, power plants, industrial plants, or similar).
- Advanced proficiency in Maximo maintenance management system or similar applications for preventive maintenance planning and regulatory compliance.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, reliability-centered maintenance, regulatory standards, and OHS procedures.
- Exceptional organizational, analytical, and leadership skills to manage multiple priorities and drive continuous improvement in a fast-paced, operationally critical environment.
- As this position is considered safety-sensitive, candidates must successfully complete pre-employment drug and alcohol testing as part of the hiring process.
- This role includes driving as part of its duties; therefore, candidates will be required to provide a valid Class 5 driver's license and a current driver's abstract as part of the hiring process.
WHAT ADDITIONAL SKILLS ARE AN ASSET
- Bilingual in English and French
- Masters' degree in Mechanical Engineering, Professional designation such as P.Eng, PMP, or CAPM.
- Airport or aviation industry experience.
