Logistics Coordinator - Materials Marketing

Job Summary

As a Logistics Coordinator, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the uninterrupted movement of recycled materials (commodities) from our material recovery facilities to various end markets. You will be a key driver in facilitating the circular economy which uses recycled materials and turn them into inputs to produce innovative and sustainable products.

Position Description

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop and execute shipment forecasting and planning activities monthly.
  • Coordinate transportation logistics, including preparing documentation, scheduling shipments, coordinating with carriers, and monitoring delivery schedules to meet customer requirements.
  • Negotiate freight rates with freight companies and freight forwarders. 
  • Communicate with material recovery facilities, end markets, and carriers to ensure the smooth flow of recycled materials throughout the supply chain.
  • Track and maintain accurate records of sales orders and shipments, including documentation, invoices, and transportation contracts, ensure sales prices and freight costs, and other costs are set up properly.
  • Monitor daily inventory levels and coordinate with material recovery facilities to ensure prompt movement of inventories. 
  • Continuously evaluate and identify opportunities to optimize logistics operations, reduce costs, and improve efficiency.
  • Prepare reports and provide regular updates to management regarding shipment status, performance metrics, and any issues or delays encountered.

Skills & Qualifications

  • College or Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Experience in logistics coordination.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with internal teams, external partners, and customers.
  • Exceptional attention to details and organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously.
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to work independently, take initiative, and problem-solve in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

Salary - $55,000 - $60,000
