Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Controller to oversee our company's financial operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing accounting activities in multiple companies, managing administrative and bookkeeping staff, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and maintaining compliance with regulatory standards. This role requires strong expertise in accounting software including SPIRE (or expert level understanding of similar software), and expert level understanding of Microsoft excel.

Duties

  • Manage all accounting functions including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger activities.
  • Prepare and analyze financial statements, reports, and budgets to support management decision-making.
  • Reconcile accounts and perform account analysis to ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data.
  • Oversee the implementation and maintenance of accounting software such as SPIRE, QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, or other relevant platforms.
  • Conduct regular account reconciliations and ensure timely closing of books each period.
  • Monitor cash flow, oversee banking relationships, and manage treasury functions.
  • Ensure compliance with tax laws, financial regulations, and internal policies.
  • Collaborate with auditors during audits and prepare necessary documentation.
  • Lead process improvements to enhance efficiency in financial operations.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Controller or similar senior accounting role with a strong background in accounting principles.
  • Proficiency in accounting software such as SPIRE, QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, and other relevant platforms.
  • Extensive knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll processing, budgeting, and account reconciliation.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
  • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CMA certification is preferred.
  • Prior experience with account analysis and financial reporting is highly desirable. This position offers an opportunity to play a key role in shaping the financial strategies of our organization while working within a dynamic team environment dedicated to excellence in financial management.
