Position: Senior Back-End Developer

Location: Toronto, Canada (3 days Hybrid)

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Back-End Developer to design, develop, and maintain robust APIs, web applications, and backend services. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Java and Python, with hands-on experience in enterprise financial systems. Familiarity with ACBS, AFS, and Corporate/Commercial Lending systems will be a significant advantage.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain RESTful APIs and web services for enterprise applications.
  • Build and optimize scalable back-end systems using Java and Python.
  • Collaborate with front-end developers, product managers, and business analysts to deliver end-to-end solutions.
  • Integrate systems and data sources related to corporate and commercial lending platforms (e.g., ACBS, AFS).
  • Implement best practices for coding, testing, and deployment in an Agile environment.
  • Use GitHub for source control, branching, and code collaboration.
  • Document technical designs, workflows, and APIs using Confluence.
  • Manage and track development tasks and sprints using Jira.
  • Participate in troubleshooting, performance tuning, and production support as needed.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • 8–10 years of experience in back-end development and API integration.
  • Strong proficiency in Java and Python.
  • Experience with RESTful API design, microservices architecture, and web application frameworks.
  • Working knowledge of ServiceNow, Confluence, Jira, and GitHub.
  • Understanding of ACBS, AFS, and corporate/commercial lending systems (preferred).
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.

Nice to Have:

  • Experience in financial services or banking technology environments.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and cloud-based deployment (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
  • Knowledge of containerization technologies like Docker or Kubernetes.
