Purpose
Reporting directly to the Maintenance Supervisor, the Maintenance Planner is responsible for organizing and coordinating all maintenance activities. This role serves as a key link between departments, the maintenance team, and external contractors to ensure efficient and safe execution of all interventions. The planner also oversees work order management, monitors pending parts and materials, and maintains accurate information within the INTERAL system. Additionally, the position plays a central role in operational communication and provides technical support to the maintenance team.
Main Responsibilities
Planning and Coordination
- Plan, organize, and prioritize all preventive, corrective, and improvement maintenance activities.
- Assist the supervisor with task planning and act as their replacement when required.
- Coordinate interventions with all internal departments.
- Plan and coordinate work with contractors and subcontractors (briefing, safety, supervision, and follow-up of activities).
- Ensure effective communication between shifts.
- Organize and lead start-of-shift meetings.
Technical Support and Operations
- Provide technical support to the maintenance team.
- Assist the team during critical interventions, as needed.
- Ensure prompt and appropriate response to breakdowns that may impact planning or operations.
- Conduct root cause analyses and implement the necessary measures to prevent recurrence.
- Participate in continuous improvement projects and support the application of 5S principles within the department.
- Perform any other related duties that support the department's proper functioning or are necessary to maintain production activities.
Administrative Management and CMMS
- Ensure rigorous follow-up of work orders: status, execution, completion, and quality of information.
- Follow up on parts, materials, and orders in collaboration with the buyer.
- Develop and maintain the INTERAL system (equipment, preventive tasks, history, etc.).
- Maintain and monitor departmental performance indicators (KPIs).
Health, Safety, and Compliance
- Contribute to the implementation and adherence to EHS practices in the planning and execution of work.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree or technical diploma (DEC) in industrial maintenance–related fields (mechanical, electrical, electromechanical engineering, or another related discipline).
- 2 to 5 years of experience in a similar position.
- Experience in maintenance management and technical problem-solving.
- Industrial environment experience with knowledge of Lean Manufacturing concepts.
- Bilingual in English and French.
- Knowledge of transformer manufacturing or transformer systems (an asset).
- Proficiency in 2D drafting (AutoCAD) and 3D modeling (Inventor).
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Technical Knowledge
- Industrial maintenance practices and equipment management.
- INTERAL CMMS software or equivalent.
- Lean Manufacturing concepts.
- Microsoft Word and Excel for reporting and data tracking.
- Problem-solving and technical troubleshooting.
- Root cause analysis and implementation of corrective measures.
- Effective communication, leadership, and ability to coordinate a team.
- Strong organizational skills, analytical and synthesis abilities, autonomy, and adaptability.
- Change management skills.
