Capital Program Analyst

The Opportunity

We are looking for a Capital Program Analyst to join our Capital Planning team. Reporting to the Manager, Capital Program, you will join a team of professionals who manage and oversee the capital program, both the current year's execution and the long-term investment planning.  

Key elements of this role include:

• The adherence of capital projects to both internal and external governance 
• Report on capital spending, forecasts and budgets 
• Compiling regulatory reporting 
• Contributing to the development of the Annual Capital Expenditure Plan 
• Contributing to the development of individual capital project filings 
• Supporting capital project owners through both PowerPlan and Final Costing processes

To thrive in this role, you recognize yourself in most of the following competencies and skills listed below:

• A university degree with a focus in accounting or finance 
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel 
• Comfortable learning and working with BI tools to analyze data and generate actionable insights
• Experience with PowerPlan (capital management software) would be considered an asset 
• Knowledge of utility regulatory requirements 
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills 
• Comfortable speaking in formal settings 
• Experience managing a large budget
