Kitchen Makeovers
Carpenter & Measurement Specialist
About The Role
The Carpenter & Measurement Specialist is a critical hands-on role at Kitchen Makeovers. You are the bridge between a sold project and a flawless installation. Your work directly impacts quality, efficiency, customer experience, and gross profit.
This role combines
technical site measurement
,
client-facing accuracy
, and
high-level carpentry execution
. If measurements are wrong, everything downstream breaks -- so precision, ownership, and pride in craftsmanship are non-negotiable.
What You'll Be Responsible For
Site Measurement & Project Accuracy
- Conduct detailed, accurate site measurements for all cabinet refacing and carpentry projects
- Create 3D renderings for carpentry projects based on site conditions using Mozaik
- Review the scope with the client on-site and obtain sign-off during the measurement visit
- Ensure measurements, plans, and details are complete, accurate, and error-free before ordering
Material Coordination
- Finalize and submit material orders immediately after measurements
- Confirm materials align with project scope and installation requirements
- Work closely with the scheduling and production teams to avoid delays or re-orders
Carpentry Installation
- Execute high-quality carpentry work during scheduled installation days
- Install cabinet boxes, panels, pull-outs, and custom carpentry elements to Kitchen Makeovers' standards
- Solve on-site challenges proactively and professionally
- Leave every site clean, complete, and client-approved
Ownership of Carpentry Operations
- Take responsibility for carpentry quality across projects
- Maintain a clean, organized carpentry van and tool setup
- Keep the tool room organized, stocked, and functional
- Flag issues early and take ownership of solutions -- no passing problems downstream
Communication & Accountability
- Communicate clearly with Production, Scheduling, and Sales
- Use Jobber and company systems to document work accurately
- Attend required production meetings prepared and on time
- Immediately report any safety, quality, damage, or warranty issues
What Success Looks Like
- Near-zero re-orders due to measurement errors
- Installations completed on time, within scope, and to spec
- Clients feel confident and informed throughout the process
- Strong collaboration with production and scheduling teams
- Tools, van, and projects are organized and predictable
What We're Looking For
- 3-5+ years of carpentry experience (cabinetry or finish carpentry preferred)
- Strong technical measurement skills -- accuracy matters more than speed
- Comfortable with client-facing conversations and sign-offs
- Ability to read plans, create 3D renderings, and visualize builds
- Organized, proactive, and accountable
- Valid driver's license and ability to operate a company vehicle
Schedule & Compensation
- Employment type: Full-time employee (permanent)
- Expected pay range: $27 to $35 per hour (CAD) (depending on experience)
- Monday-Friday, daytime (some flexibility during peak weeks)
- Benefits: paid time off, training, and a growth path (Lead Tech/Finishing Specialist/CNC)
Why Kitchen Makeovers
- Established, growing company with a clear mission to reduce construction waste
- High standards, strong systems, and a team that values accountability
- Opportunity to be a key player in a specialized, high-impact role
- Competitive hourly compensation based on experience
