General Manager – Home Care Company

We are a Canadian-owned, nurse-led home care company based in North Vancouver, proudly serving our community for over 10 years. We are not a franchise. Our care model is relationship-driven, clinically guided, and community-focused.
As we continue to grow, we are seeking a General Manager to lead operations, support our teams, and help drive the next stage of business growth.
Position Overview
The General Manager plays a key leadership role in overseeing daily operations, people management, and business development. This is a hands-on, hybrid position suited for someone who enjoys balancing operations, relationship-building, and strategic thinking in a 24/7 service environment. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in senior care, assisted living, or long-term care settings, with proven leadership and management skills. As the driving force behind our home care programs, you will champion quality service delivery, team development, and operational excellence to enhance the lives of our clients and their families.
Key Responsibilities
Operations & Leadership
- Oversee day-to-day operations of a 24/7 home care company
- Participate in an on-call rotation and support urgent operational needs
- Ensure quality of service, compliance, and operational efficiency
- Step in to support care coverage when needed
Team Management
- Hire, onboard, train, and support caregivers and nurses
- Provide leadership, coaching, and performance management
- Manage conflict resolution with staff and clients professionally and compassionately
- Foster a positive, accountable, and collaborative workplace culture
Business Growth & Community Engagement
- Contribute ideas and strategies to support business growth
- Support marketing initiatives (website content, SEO, outreach)
- Build and maintain relationships with:
- Assisted Living and Independent Living facilities
- Community centres
- Hospitals and healthcare partners
- Attend occasional community, senior-focused, or networking events (some evenings or weekends)
Brand & Relationship Building
- Represent the company professionally within the community
- Maintain a consistent in-person presence to strengthen partnerships and trust
- Support the organization's reputation as a trusted, nurse-led care provider
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience in a management or leadership role (operations, care management, hospitality, healthcare, or service-based industries)
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Comfortable managing sensitive situations, including conflict resolution with clients and staff
- Ability to work in a 24/7 service environment, including participation in an on-call rotation
- Willingness to be hands-on and adaptable as operational needs arise
- Valid Vulnerable Sector Criminal Record Check (or willingness to obtain)
- Current First Aid & CPR Certification (or willingness to obtain)
Preferred Qualifications
- Background in healthcare, home care, or senior care
- Experience as a Care Manager, Clinical Coordinator, or similar role
- Nursing background (LPN or RN)
- Experience in hospitality, customer service leadership, or operations management
- Familiarity with staffing, scheduling, and team coordination in a fast-paced environment
- Experience with marketing, community outreach, or business development
- Comfort working with digital tools, websites, and basic SEO concepts
Work Environment
- Hybrid role (mostly remote)
- Minimum once-weekly in-office presence
- Regular in-person meetings with team members and community partners
- Supportive, collaborative, nurse-led leadership team

Compensation
