The Portal Crane Group (PCG) has been proudly servicing the crane, material handling and hoist industry since 1987. Located in Port Coquitlam, PCG has three main operating divisions. Precision Crane, which provides Parts, Service and Maintenance for Overhead Cranes and Hoists. Portal Crane which provides Parts and Service for all kinds of Cranes and Material Handling equipment including Project work for refurbishment and upgrades. Lastly, we have our manufactured brake products under BRELX. We have a full product line of Crane and Material Handling braking systems. Primary design concepts for these brakes supplied across the world at Ports and Container Handling facilities are spring applied and hydraulically released. BRELX is the first company in the world to develop electrically released product. With proof of concept in place and installation base of product rapidly expanding, we need to add quality people to our team to meet the increasing worldwide demand for our products and services. As a result, we are currently looking to hire for several positions.

The future is Electric and we are looking for quality people to join the PCG team and continue to build our brand and products to compete on the worldwide market.

Purchasing Agent

Duties Include:

  • Control the purchasing of raw materials, contracts and other goods and services
  • Accountable for all purchasing activities
  • Process purchase requisitions and issue purchase orders for products and services based on negotiated costs
  • Collaborate with engineering for sourcing options and alternatives
  • Identify new sources for supply and opportunities for cost savings

Requirements:

  • Mechanical Technologist degree or equivalent experience in related fields
  • Minimum 2-3 years of related experience
  • Proficient in MS Office applications
  • ERP (Visual Mfg.) experience is an asset but not required
  • Ability to read drawings and bill of materials
  • Able to work in busy, active environment with changing priorities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
