Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Assistant Store Manager to join our retail team. This leadership role is vital in ensuring the smooth operation of our store, delivering exceptional customer service, and driving sales growth. The ideal candidate will possess strong management skills, a passion for retail, and the ability to motivate and develop staff. Bilingual abilities and prior retail management experience are highly valued to support diverse customer needs and team leadership.

Duties

  • Assist the Store Manager in overseeing daily store operations, including merchandising, inventory management, and sales strategies
  • Lead, supervise, and motivate store staff to achieve sales targets and deliver outstanding customer service
  • Manage payroll, scheduling, and personnel records with accuracy and confidentiality
  • Conduct recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, and training of new employees to build a high-performing team
  • Oversee POS transactions, cash handling, pricing adjustments, and bookkeeping tasks to ensure accuracy
  • Develop and implement marketing initiatives to attract customers and increase store visibility
  • Monitor sales performance and analyze sales data to identify opportunities for growth
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements
  • Handle customer inquiries, resolve complaints efficiently, and maintain excellent phone etiquette
  • Coordinate purchasing decisions and manage store budgets effectively
  • Support promotional activities and participate in community engagement efforts

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in retail management or supervisory roles with demonstrated leadership skills
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
  • Excellent communication skills; bilingual or multilingual abilities are a plus
  • Proficiency in POS systems, cash handling, merchandising software, and basic math skills for bookkeeping
  • Experience in recruiting, training & development, sales management, and marketing strategies
  • Ability to negotiate with vendors and manage purchasing processes
  • Knowledge of retail sales techniques, pricing strategies, and store management best practices
  • Demonstrated ability to supervise staff, conduct interviews, and develop team members' potential
  • Strong time management skills with the capacity to lead a team in a fast-paced environment
  • Administrative experience including payroll processing, budgeting, and record keeping is preferred
