The Job: Senior Security Analyst
We're looking for a highly technical and detail-oriented Senior Security Analyst to join our growing Cyber Group in Toronto. Reporting to the Sr. Manager of Cyber Security Operations, you'll be responsible for protecting the organization's information systems and data by monitoring, detecting, and responding to cybersecurity threats. The role ensures the effective operation and optimization of SOC tools and processes to enhance threat visibility, reduce response times, and strengthen overall cyber resilience.
What You'll Do
Security Monitoring & Threat Detection:
- Analyze security alerts and telemetry from SIEM, Security and Network Tools.
- Perform correlation and enrichment of events using Threat intelligence.
Incident Response & Threat Containment:
- Co-lead response to security incidents, coordinating across IT, cloud, and MSSP. Contain, eradicate, and recover from security incidents following defined playbooks and escalation paths.
- Assist with Root Cause Analysis and identify gaps in detection, logging, or controls.
Vulnerability Management:
- Scan, validate and prioritize vulnerabilities in alignment with business risk.
- Provide input into remediation prioritization and compensating control strategies.
Security Tools & Controls Operations:
- Administer and operate core security technologies
- Monitor the operational health of security controls, ensuring consistent coverage and data integrity.
- Support upgrades, patching, and performance tuning for SOC tools in coordination with IT and vendors.
- Document configurations, standard operating procedures, and tool maintenance guides.
Threat Hunting & Proactive Defense
- Conduct proactive threat hunting based on hypotheses and emerging IOCs or TTPs.
- Contribute to purple-team exercises and validation of SOC effectiveness
Collaboration & Security Training
- Collaborate with IT, risk, and compliance teams to strengthen the organization's security posture.

- Experience adapting communication style to different audiences. Facilitates discussions, resolves conflicts, and collaborates across teams.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- A proactive, curious mindset with a drive to continuously improve processes and deliverables.
- Strong business judgment and the ability to think both creatively and strategically.
- Ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively in a cross-functional environment.
Education + Experience
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in cybersecurity roles, with a focus on security monitoring, incident response, and threat analysis.
- Experience leading or mentoring junior security analysts or team members.
- Familiarity with cloud security monitoring and incident response.
