Responsibilities

  • Greet customers warmly and assist them in finding products that meet their needs with enthusiasm and confidence.
  • Conduct engaging product demonstrations to highlight features and benefits, encouraging customer interest and upselling opportunities.
  • Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system accurately for transactions, including cash handling, credit card processing, and receipts.
  • Manage stock levels by merchandising shelves effectively, restocking items, and organizing displays to maximize visual appeal.
  • Perform cashier duties with professionalism, ensuring quick checkout processes while maintaining excellent phone etiquette when assisting over the phone.
  • Support store operations by stocking shelves, organizing merchandise, and maintaining a clean, inviting environment.
  • Assist in inventory management through regular stock checks and participating in periodic inventory counts.
  • Provide outstanding customer service by listening actively, answering questions clearly, and resolving issues promptly.
  • Participate in product demos to educate customers about new or featured items, enhancing their shopping experience.
  • Collaborate with team members to achieve sales goals through effective upselling and cross-selling techniques.
  • Maintain knowledge of store policies, promotions, and product details to serve as a trusted resource for customers.

Qualifications

  • Prior experience in retail sales or grocery stores is preferred but not required; enthusiasm for learning is key
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to connect with diverse customers in a bilingual environment is a plus.
  • Basic math skills for handling cash transactions accurately and performing retail math calculations.
  • Familiarity with POS systems and cash handling procedures ensures smooth checkout experiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to supervise or lead small teams is advantageous but not mandatory; leadership qualities are appreciated.
  • Knowledge of merchandising standards and stock management techniques helps maintain an attractive sales floor.
  • Excellent phone etiquette for engaging with customers over the phone professionally.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks such as standing for extended periods, stocking shelves, and moving merchandise comfortably.
