Overview

Responsible for leading all post-merger integration (PMI) activities to ensure acquisitions are seamlessly integrated, value is realized quickly, and operational disruption is minimized. This role owns the end-to-end integration lifecycle—from diligence support through Day 1 readiness and long-term synergy realization.

Reporting to the President and CEO, the Director of Integration and Value Creation partners closely with executive leadership, corporate development, finance, IT, HR, and operations to align integration strategy with deal rationale and growth objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Integration Strategy and Leadership

  • Develop and own the enterprise integration strategy aligned with organizational goals

  • Lead integration initiatives across technology, operations, and business functions

  • Serve as the primary point of accountability for integration outcomes and timelines

  • Establish governance frameworks, brand standards, and best practices for integration

M&A Integration Leadership

  • Own and lead the post-merger integration strategy for all acquisitions

  • Translate deal thesis into clear integration plans, timelines, and success metrics

  • Serve as the single point of accountability for PMI execution

  • Establish repeatable integration playbooks, governance, and brand standards

Pre-Close and Due Diligence

  • Partner with Corporate Development during due diligence to assess:

o Operational, technology, financial, and cultural integration risks

o System compatibility, data quality, and scalability

o Organizational structure and talent dependencies

  • Develop integration cost estimates, timelines, and synergy assumptions

  • Lead Day 1 and Day 100 readiness planning

Post Close Execution

  • Lead cross-functional integration teams across finance, IT, HR, operations, legal, and sales

  • Drive execution of Day 1 stabilization and business continuity plans

  • Oversee system migrations, process harmonization, and data integration

  • Ensure consistent policies, controls, and reporting across entities

Synergy Realization and Value Capture

  • Define, track, and report on synergy targets (cost savings, revenue growth, efficiencies)

  • Coordinate execution of synergy initiatives across business units

  • Monitor performance against deal models and adjust plans as needed

  • Ensure accountability for synergy delivery

Stakeholder and Change Management

  • Act as the primary liaison between acquired leadership teams and the parent organization

  • Manage communications to executives, employees, and key stakeholders

  • Lead cultural integration efforts while respecting local strengths

  • Support leadership transitions and talent retention strategies

Risk, Compliance and Governance

  • Identify and mitigate integration risks early

  • Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and financial reporting requirements

  • Establish integration governance, decision frameworks, and escalation paths

  • Track integration budgets, resources, and timelines

  • Collaborate with ownership and board of directors, including private equity sponsor

Qualification

Required

  • Fluent and working ability in French and English

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Operations, or related field

  • 8–12+ years of experience in M&A integration, corporate development, transformation, or program leadership

  • Direct experience leading multiple post-merger integrations

  • Strong understanding of financial modeling, deal rationale, and synergy management

  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams in fast-paced, ambiguous environments

Preferred

  • MBA or advanced degree

  • Experience in roll-up or acquisitive growth strategies

  • Background in private equity-backed or highly acquisitive organizations

  • PMP, Agile, or integration methodology certification
