Duties and Responsibilities:

Ø Program Manager for new launches, drives Advance Quality Planning meetings to maintain status of all elements in the plan, determine potential roadblocks and manage the solutions. Participate in design of required fixtures and tooling and procure same.

Ø Create realistic & reasonable timeline for project implementation using Gannt charts and APQP open issue deck.

Ø Manage and prepare key projects reports for the Management review for program status, including highlighting issues that may cause a roadblock for launch

Ø Provide technical assistance for equipment & processes, including purchasing new equipment

Ø Troubleshoot issues and find solutions for various auxiliary equipment (presses, laser, cameras, etc.)

Ø Provide technical expertise to setup technicians for root cause analysis and problem solving

Ø work with existing inspection methods, gauges & process capabilities to continually reduce operator inspection frequency while maintaining quality

Ø Work closely with QA on control plans & process flows and PFMEA's

Ø Determine process capability and react to low capability with correction plans.

Ø Lead continuous improvement activities on existing jobs, track same as new project when required

Ø Participate in cell or work area set-ups with correct flow

Ø take initiative to continually develop & improve internal standards/methods for engineering systems.

Ø Additional Responsibilities:

Ø Provide list for tooling requirements on new work and prototypes

Ø Train setup technicians & supervisors/lead hands on new and existing jobs in areas of expertise

Ø Work with suppliers to find new tooling solutions for testing in machines.

Ø Provide strong & consistent leadership to increase motivation, skill and knowledge of all employees

Ø provide daily, weekly, monthly departmental reports as required

Ø Other duties & projects assigned

Working Conditions:

Ø Manufacturing shop floor, exposure to seasonal temperatures, coolants & lubricants

Ø Flexible to work overtime on short notice

Academic/Educational Requirements

Ø A university degree in engineering or equivalent experience working as a process or manufacturing engineer with a technical diploma or college certificate in manufacturing or industrial engineering.

Ø Licensing by a provincial or territorial association of professional technicians / engineers as an asset.

Required Skills/Experience

Ø Three to five years of related experience, preferably in a high-volume CNC manufacturing environment.

Ø Advanced understanding of APQP, PPAP requirements.

Ø Ability to collect data and develop statistics to understand machine repeatability and capability, or system functionality.

Ø Understanding of measuring tools and methods with emphasis on CMM checking methodology

Ø Ability to complete ECN's and implement changes.

Ø Ability to lead meeting to update key parties about projects.

Ø Previous experience in machine processes, cutting tools, fixtures, CNC and Special purpose machines.

Ø Experience with mechanical blueprint interpretation including GD&T. Must be able to demonstrate basic drawing and dimensioning during interview process.

Ø Experience with the use of statistical analysis software and computer-assisted design, manufacturing and machining (i.e. AutoCAD (2D/3D), CAD/CAM and SolidWorks).

Ø Project Management experience an asset

Ø Good computer skills, including Word, Excel and Outlook.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $60,000.00-$70,000.00 per year
