The position is a winter intern position, beginning in January with the contract term ending at the end of April. There is a potential to extend the position term to be an eight month term ending at the end of August.
Working as a Junior Analyst, Actuarial gives you the opportunity to challenge yourself, and learn more about the actuarial and pension industry. You will be working closely with other actuarial analysts as well as financial professionals, accountants and clients, to give exceptional customer service. We strive to build long-lasting relationships with our clients as they are the core of everything we do
As a Junior Analyst for GBL, you will be entrusted to prepare triennial actuarial valuation reports and cost certificates for our Individual Pension Plan (IPP) clients. This will include reviewing data for consistency and completeness and ensuring filings and data is up to date. You will also be communicating the results directly with the clients and their financial team, answering questions and following up on missing information.
Skills
- Enrolled in the Actuarial Science program or who have experience in actuarial roles
- Hard workings and can function independently in a high paced environment
- Able to work independently and self manage their time
- Great communicators by phone and e-mail
- Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel
- Detail oriented and have strong analytical skills
- Able to multi-task and stay organized
