About Us

Sokil Transportation Group is a well-established, family-owned business specializing in transportation, logistics, and warehousing. With over 74 years of industry experience, we operate and maintain an asset-based fleet of 100+ power units and 300+ trailers, including Volvo, Freightliner, and International trucks for both local and highway operations. We are looking for experienced, highly motivated Heavy Duty Mechanics to help ensure our fleet remains reliable and operating at peak performance.

Responsibilities

· Maintain and repair heavy-duty trucks, trailers, forklifts, and industrial equipment.

· Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues.

· Perform servicing on engines, transmissions, brakes, drivetrains, and exhaust systems.

· Repair or replace defective components using appropriate tools and equipment.

· Conduct preventative maintenance and inspections to minimize downtime.

· Ensure compliance with safety regulations, OHS, and company policies.

· Maintain accurate records of repairs, parts used, and maintenance activities.

· Participate in on-call service rotations for emergency repairs.

· Report to supervisors and management on fleet status and maintenance needs.

Qualifications

· Journeyperson or 4th year apprentice

· CVIP certification

· Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.

· Basic welding skills and tire maintenance experience.

· Ability to read schematics and technical manuals.

· Strong problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitude.

· Physical stamina to handle heavy lifting and extended periods of work.

· Must have steel-toed boots and a full set of tools.

Work Environment

· COR-certified safety program.

· Primarily indoor work in a heavy-duty shop, with occasional outdoor duties.

· Lunchroom, lockers, fridge, microwave, and coffee provided.
