Your Opportunity

An opportunity exists for a Bridge Engineer-in-Training to become part of our dynamic Transportation Engineering group in Winnipeg, Manitoba. In this position you'll be an active member of our team working on small to large-scale multi-disciplinary projects under the guidance and supervision of a Professional Bridge Engineer. Working in our Winnipeg, Manitoba office, you will given the opportunity to further develop your skills in evaluating, selecting, specifying, and engineering bridge systems and products for a variety of transportation projects. This opportunity will allow the successful candidate to exercise their technical engineering skills while growing and having a say in the development of their own career at Stantec. 

Stantec's Transportation Team has a strong local presence but also participates in some of Stantec's largest and most complex transportation projects. These projects encompass the entire life of the transportation structure – from feasibility studies through detailed design and construction oversight.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and support project delivery through participating in the execution and delivery of transportation projects, including planning, preliminary design, and detailed design phases.
  • Perform structural analysis and design for a variety of transportation structures, ensuring compliance with relevant codes and standards.
  • Prepare design details, technical reports, and specifications for bridges and other transportation structures.
  • Work closely with colleagues in a multi-disciplinary design office, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment.
  • Conduct inspections of bridges, culverts, and other structures to assess their condition and support maintenance planning.
  • Perform quantity calculations and develop cost estimates for project components.
  • Collaborate with engineers, technologists, and technicians to fulfill transportation engineering responsibilities.
  • Support intermediate and senior team members on transportation projects, contributing to both field and office activities.
  • Assist the team in preparing technical proposals for new projects and opportunities.
  • Aid project managers with general project management duties, including tracking scope, schedules, budgets, and deliverables.
  • Provide on-site observation and oversight during the construction of transportation works to ensure quality and compliance.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned, contributing to the overall success of the team and projects.
