Course Code and Title: MATA30H3 Calculus I for Physical Sciences

Course Description: An introduction to the basic techniques of Calculus. Elementary functions: rational, trigonometric, root, exponential and logarithmic functions and their graphs. Basic calculus: limits, continuity, derivatives, derivatives of higher order, analysis of graphs, use of derivatives; integrals and their applications.

Lecture Section: LEC01: WED 8-10am & FRI 11am-12noon.

Number of Positions (est.): One

Qualifications: Previous teaching experience as the instructor of a Mathematics course at the university level (required). Previous teaching experience as the instructor for MATA30H3 or equivalent (strongly desirable).

Duties: All normal duties related to the design and teaching of a university credit course, including preparation and delivery of course content; development, administration and marking of assignments, tests and exams; calculation and submission of grades; submission of a deferred exam; holding regular office hours; supervising TAs assigned to course.

Estimated TA Support (Hours): 79 hours per tutorial.

Sessional dates of appointment: January 5 - April 30, 2026

Sessional Lecturer I $9,820.70

Sessional Lecturer I Long Term $10,510.04

Sessional Lecturer II $10,510.04

Sessional Lecturer II Long Term $10,760.28

Sessional Lecturer III $10,760.28

Sessional Lecturer III Long Term $11,030.36
