The Role
Reporting to the Engineering Manager, we are seeking a
hands-on Prototyping Specialist
with strong machining capabilities and a passion for mechanical design. This role is ideal for a skilled machinist eager to expand into product development and design.

Your primary focus will be
prototyping and fabrication
using a variety of machine tools, with secondary responsibilities supporting new product development as a mechanical designer.

What You'll Do

  • Design, fabricate, and coordinate custom equipment and components for prototyping and piloting
  • Conduct hands-on testing of mechanical systems and water treatment processes at bench and pilot scale
  • Build prototypes and test fixtures using manual and CNC machining tools (mills, lathes, drill presses)
  • Translate sketches, CAD drawings, and specifications into working prototypes
  • Develop and document procedures for operating, maintaining, and testing equipment in alignment with lab standards and safety protocols

What You'll Bring

  • Apprenticeship, diploma, or degree in engineering/applied science technology—or equivalent hands-on machining/prototyping experience
  • Proven background in custom-engineered project environments with strong machining and prototyping skills
  • Familiarity with process piping, electrical/control systems troubleshooting, and project coordination (asset)
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks CAD software and strong general computer skills (asset)
