POSITION: Plumbing Apprentice
REPORTS TO: Site Foreman / Journeyman Plumber
We are seeking motivated and hardworking plumbing apprentices to join our growing construction team This role is ideal for individuals currently registered as 3rd to 4th year apprentices or those with general plumbing experience looking to develop a long-term career in the plumbing trade. You will work on new construction projects, including multi-family residential and wood-frame builds across the lower mainland.
WHO YOU ARE:
- Enthusiastic about learning the plumbing trade in a fast-paced construction setting
- Physically fit and capable of performing manual labour for extended periods
- Comfortable working from heights, on ladders, or elevated platforms (e.g., scissor lifts)
- Reliable, punctual, and safety-focused
- Able to take direction well and work both independently and as part of a team
- Have a strong work ethic and a willingness to ask questions and grow in the trade
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist in the layout and installation of plumbing systems based on blueprints and site drawings
- Measure, cut, and prep pipe materials including PEX, ABS, copper, and PVC
- Identify and gather the required materials for specific stages of plumbing rough-ins and finishes
- Support journeyperson plumbers in the installation of drainage, venting, and water supply systems
- Assist with the setup and connection of plumbing fixtures, appliances, and water heaters
- Install supports, hangers, and insulation around pipe systems where required
Tools & materials handling
- Safely operate and maintain hand and power tools (pipe cutters, threaders, drills, etc.)
- Load and unload plumbing materials and distribute them to the appropriate work areas
- Maintain an organized and clean worksite, ensuring tools and materials are stored properly
- Follow all safety protocols, including proper use of PPE, fall protection, and confined space awareness
- Participate in toolbox talks and report any unsafe conditions to the site supervisor
- Assist in setting up and maintaining temporary water lines and drains during construction
Communication & learning
- Attend apprenticeship training sessions as required and apply classroom learning on-site
- Follow verbal and written instructions from supervisors and journeypersons
- Maintain respectful and professional conduct on-site with all trades and team members
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Currently registered as a plumbing apprentice (level 1 to 4) or have related plumbing experience
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to job sites
- Ability to lift 50 lbs, bend, crouch, and stand for long periods
- Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions
- First aid and fall protection certificates are an asset (training can be provided)
