Product Management Intern (Verified)

At Interac, we design and deliver products and solutions that give Canadians control over their money so they can get more out of life. But that's not all. Whether we're leading real-time money movement, driving innovative commerce solutions like open payments for transit systems, or making advancements in new areas like verification and open banking, we are playing a key role in shaping the future of the digital economy in Canada.

Want to make a lasting impact amongst a community of creative thinkers, problem solvers, technical gurus and high-performance application developers? We want to hear from you.

We are looking for a Product Management Intern to join our team and gain hands-on experience in building and improving products that impact our customers. If you're passionate about technology, problem-solving, and customer experience, this role is for you

Please note: There are two similar but different Product Management Intern job postings available. Those studying computer science, business or engineering are strongly encouraged to apply to this role as the ideal candidate has some technical experience.

The intern will join Interac's Verified product team, working closely with product managers, engineers, designers, and business stakeholders. You will contribute to shaping product features, gathering insights, and driving key initiatives.

You'llbe responsible for:

  • Support the Product team in day-to-day activities with stakeholder groups (squads, sales, engineering, marketing, and design) to address product-related issues and concerns

  • Provide general support to the product roadmap, defining requirements, conducting product research, and assisting in squads to deliver corporate objectives

  • Assist with general product programs and initiatives, including participation in squad activities (sprints), documenting requirements, and contributing to the product roadmap

  • Analyze product dynamics and business needs and recommend prioritization of roadmap items

  • Conduct market research and analyze user feedback to identify opportunities for product improvements.

  • Collaborate with engineering, design, and marketing teams to support product launches

  • Help track product performance metrics and analyze data to inform decision-making

  • Participate in user testing, gather insights, and make recommendations for UX/UI improvements

  • Research, analyze, and maintain information systems in support of the product roadmap using tools like Jira, Figma, and other product tools

  • Prepare documentation and conduct research as requested by the squad and/or product team

  • Document and communicate product updates to stakeholders

You bring:

  • Currently completing an undergraduate degree from a creditable Canadian institution with a focus on Business, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field

  • Analytical thinking and ability to quantify customer needs, pain points and product value - you have an ability to deliver actionable recommendations in a timely manner

  • Ability to conduct market research, competitor analysis, and gather user feedback

  • You have a strong growth mindset – you're willing to work and learn outside of your main functional expertise to meet the goals of your team

  • Understanding that success is in the details – you tend to notice things that others don't

  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Power BI, MS Teams) with a preference for working knowledge of Excel

  • Experience with product management tools like Jira/Confluence, Figma, Lucid Chart/Spark, Tableau

  • Although not required, you have some familiarity or previous experience with the following:
