Remote, Canada Lawlabs Inc. Full time

Company Overview

Lawlabs Inc. is a dynamic team based in London, Ontario, comprised of law and tech professionals dedicated to enhancing the property closing experience. Our mission is to streamline the property conveyancing process for lawyers and clerks, ensuring it is optimized for today's needs and future innovations. We pride ourselves on our values of trust, integrity, and delivering a world-class product.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Head of Quality Assurance to own and elevate quality across our product and engineering organization. This role is both strategic and hands-on - you'll design and implement scalable QA processes, build and lead a high-performing QA team, and ensure quality is embedded across the entire development lifecycle.

You'll be responsible for defining our QA vision, driving test automation, improving manual testing practices, and partnering closely with Engineering, Product, and Leadership to deliver reliable, high-quality software at scale.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own and lead the QA strategy, roadmap, and execution across the product
  • Build, mentor, and manage the QA team, setting clear standards and expectations
  • Design and implement automated testing frameworks and pipelines
  • Establish and refine manual testing processes for exploratory, regression, and release testing
  • Embed QA practices into CI/CD workflows and agile development processes
  • Define and track quality metrics, test coverage, and defect trends
  • Partner closely with Engineering and Product to influence architecture, scope, and delivery timelines
  • Ensure testing best practices across frontend, backend, integrations, and cloud infrastructure
  • Continuously evaluate and improve tools, frameworks, and workflows

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience leading a QA or Quality Engineering team
  • Proven experience designing and implementing test automation strategies
  • Strong background in manual testing methodologies and processes
  • Experience testing modern web applications and APIs
  • Ability to balance hands-on work with leadership and strategic planning
  • Strong communication skills and confidence influencing cross-functional teams

Technical Environment

Experience with many (not necessarily all) of the following:

Frontend

  • Angular (v19)
  • TypeScript
  • RxJS
  • NGXS
  • Tailwind
  • Flexbox
  • CSS Grid

Backend

  • C#
  • LINQ
  • REST APIs

Testing Frameworks

  • xUnit
  • NUnit
  • Moq (or equivalent mocking frameworks)

Cloud & Infrastructure

  • Google Cloud Platform
  • Firebase
  • BigQuery
  • Cloud Functions
  • Docker
  • Kubernetes

What Success Looks Like

  • QA is proactive, not reactive
  • Automation coverage steadily increases while release confidence improves
  • Bugs are caught early, not late
  • Engineering teams see QA as a partner, not a gatekeeper
  • Quality metrics are visible, actionable, and improving

Why Join Us

  • High-impact leadership role with real ownership
  • Opportunity to build and shape QA from a systems level
  • Modern tech stack and strong engineering culture
  • Competitive compensation and flexibility

This position is for an existing vacancy.
