Overview
We are seeking a skilled Equipment Operator to join our construction and heavy machinery team. The ideal candidate will have experience operating various types of heavy equipment, including dozers, loaders, backhoes, excavators, and cranes. This role requires mechanical aptitude, safety awareness, and the ability to work efficiently in demanding environments. The Equipment Operator will play a vital role in ensuring project progress and safety standards are maintained throughout all phases of construction and land development projects.
Responsibilities
- Operate heavy equipment such as dozers, loaders, backhoes, excavators, and cranes with precision and adherence to safety protocols
- Conduct routine inspections and maintenance checks on equipment to ensure optimal functioning
- Assist with site preparation, grading, excavation, and material handling tasks
- Follow project plans and instructions from supervisors to complete assigned tasks efficiently
- Maintain a clean and organized work area around equipment operation zones
- Adhere to all safety regulations and report any hazards or equipment malfunctions immediately
- Collaborate with team members to coordinate equipment use and project timelines
Qualifications
- Proven experience operating heavy machinery including dozer, loader, backhoe, excavator, crane, or similar equipment
- Mechanical knowledge related to heavy construction machinery and farm equipment
- Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) preferred but not mandatory
- Familiarity with Caterpillar or other major heavy equipment brands is a plus
- Strong understanding of construction site safety procedures and protocols
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and lift up to 50 pounds as needed
- Prior experience in construction or farm machinery operation is highly desirable
- Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment and following all company policies
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $22.00 per hour
Expected hours: No more than 25 per week
Work Location: In person
