Job Description

As a Line Cook at Jump, you'll be an essential part of a tight-knit brigade committed to precision, consistency, and quality. You'll be responsible for executing dishes to exacting standards, maintaining a clean and organized station, and working collaboratively to deliver an exceptional dining experience, service after service. This is your opportunity to grow in a polished, professional kitchen that values teamwork, sharp technique, and a deep respect for the craft of cooking.

 The Day to Day:

  • Execute daily food preparation and cooking tasks as directed by the Sous Chef, Chef de Cuisine, or General Manager
  • Cook and assemble dishes to exact recipe and presentation standards, ensuring quality and consistency throughout service
  • Maintain a clean and organized station with an up-to-date prep list and proper stock of ingredients
  • Follow portion control guidelines and plating specifications with precision
  • Uphold freshness by practicing proper food rotation (FIFO) and clear labeling
  • Assist with receiving, storing, and organizing deliveries while maintaining food safety standards
  • Support kitchen inventory control by using and storing products responsibly
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of prep areas, equipment, and tools in compliance with health and safety guidelines
  • Adhere strictly to WHMIS, MSDS, and all workplace safety protocols
  • Work collaboratively with the kitchen team to ensure smooth, efficient service, especially during high-volume periods
  • Take pride in the craft of cooking and contribute positively to kitchen morale and culture
  • Perform additional duties as required to support the overall success of the team
Qualifications
  • 1–2 years of experience in a high-volume, fast-paced kitchen environment
  • Advanced understanding of professional cooking and knife handling skills.
  • Ability to take direction and work calmly and effectively under pressure.
  • Able to spend 100% of the time standing.
  • Availability for evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Legally eligible to work in Canada
