Litigation Lawyer
Full-time or Permanent Part-Time
On-site at our downtown Calgary office with remote options available
Who We Are
At The Calgary Legal Team, we are a boutique law firm driven by a commitment to excellence and a collaborative, supportive work environment. Our diverse practice areas include Family Law, Civil Litigation, Estates Litigation, Tax Litigation, Corporate Law, and Estate Planning. We prioritize client-centered representation while fostering an empowering, growth-oriented atmosphere for our Team members.
As part of our continued growth, we are looking for an experienced Litigation Lawyer to join our team.
About the Role
This position is open to both full-time and part-time candidates, and we're happy to explore hybrid or fully remote arrangements for the right individual. We're seeking a lawyer with a solid background in litigation or litigation support who is ready to independently manage files, contribute to legal strategy, and advocate for clients in Court.
We believe that talented lawyers do their best work in a collaborative environment where their contributions are recognized. As a small firm, we offer a meaningful alternative to the traditional large-firm experience:
Real Collaboration. You'll work side-by-side with experienced lawyers and paralegals who value teamwork over hierarchy.
Shared Workload. We plan thoughtfully to ensure files are distributed fairly and Team members are not overwhelmed.
Sustainable Hours. We prioritize realistic expectations so you can maintain your professional drive without compromising your personal life.
Visible Impact. You'll lead files, build direct client relationships, and see the results of your work every day.
Key Responsibilities
· Manage litigation files.
· Provide strategic legal advice and guidance to clients.
· Draft pleadings, legal memoranda, and settlement agreements.
· Conduct legal research.
· Negotiate settlements and represent clients in Court.
· Collaborate closely with paralegals and other Team members to deliver efficient, high-quality legal services.
What You'll Bring
· At least five (5) years of post-call litigation experience.
· Strong background in litigation or litigation support.
· Experience in our practice areas (e.g., Family Law, Civil Litigation, Estates Litigation, Tax Litigation, Corporate Law, Estate Planning) is strongly preferred.
· Law degree from a recognized institution and license to practice in Alberta (or another Canadian province, excluding Quebec).
· A team-first mindset: you're collaborative, open to feedback, and effectively leverage paralegal support.
· Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
· Proven ability to manage clients independently.
