We're looking to enhance our team by welcoming a new Industrial Millwright Mechanic (Night Shift) to Maintenance team. The Industrial Millwright Mechanic position is a full-time salaried position that is essential to our operations. This Industrial Millwright Mechanic performs mechanical maintenance repair and troubleshooting on the manufacturing equipment and facilities using drawings, schematics and interpretation and knowledge of applicable codes and safety regulations. This position requires commitment to keep up to date with industry developments and have a methodical approach to work.

The role:

  • Assembling and installing machines then testing them to make sure they are working correctly.
  • Must work in full compliance with the approved safety regulations.
  • Managing the layout and placement of equipment and machinery in factory settings to ensure minimum downtime.
  • Identifying and repairing problematic parts of a machine by running tests, making temporary repairs, or installing new parts
  • Dismantling older machines and replacing them with new ones
  • Overseeing preventive maintenance by identifying and correcting potential issues, removing worn out pieces and lubricating mechanical parts
  • Comfortable to use equipment such as milling machine, welder and Lathe.
  • Working knowledge of mechanical technical skills to allow them to effectively read documents such as specifications, machine manuals, and blueprints.
  • Proficient in troubleshooting techniques to solve machine issues.
  • Excellent mathematical skills and strong attention to detail
  • Ability to be a team player due to constant interactions with similar employees and stakeholders such as Engineers, Plant Managers, and Part Vendors, amongst others.
  • Working experience with pneumatic, hydraulic, pumps, gear box, motors, servo motors, conveyors
  • Having experience with packaging equipment
  • May install, maintain, and calibrate industrial instrumentation and related devices.
  • Install, align, dismantle, and move stationary industrial machinery and mechanical equipment.
  • Inspect and examine machinery and equipment to detect and investigate irregularities and malfunctions.
  • Adjust machinery and repair or replace defective parts.
  • Clean, lubricate and perform other routine maintenance work on machinery.

You offer:

  • Must have a valid 433A Industrial Millwright Mechanic license.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience as an Industrial Millwright Mechanic.
  • Mechanical skills and aptitude with direct experience in mechanical repairs and maintenance
  • Minimum 3 years of manufacturing/packaging experience
  • Good math skills, ability to take measurements and work with numbers.
  • Able to work in small spaces and lift heavy equipment (25kg)
  • Good hand-eye coordination and motion control
  • Good practical skills to use a range of hand and power tools.
  • Ability to work unsupervised and/or as part of a team.
  • Good communication skills
  • Thorough understanding of electrical safety rules and regulations
  • GMP and HACCP training
  • Flexibility to work additional hours, afternoon shift and weekends as required.
