Job Overview

Norgen Biotek is a leading Canadian biotechnology company focusing on sample preparation for research and diagnostic applications. Established in the Niagara Region in 1998, Norgen manufactures and sells products world-wide, as well as provides R&D and diagnostic services to the scientific community. Norgen is currently looking to recruit a part-time landscaper properties owned in the Niagara region.

Responsibilities

  • Perform landscape maintenance tasks such as lawn mowing, trimming, planting, and pruning, and snow and ice removal.
  • Operate hand tools, power tools, and equipment such riding lawnmowers, vehicle snowplows, manual snowblowers, weed whackers, etc
  • Install landscape features such as plants, gardens, fences and patio stones
  • Conduct tree care activities including trimming, pruning, and removal when necessary
  • Maintain irrigation systems to ensure proper watering schedules and system functionality
  • Conduct routine maintenance of tools and equipment to ensure optimal performance
  • Follow safety protocols at all times to prevent accidents and injuries on the job site
  • Additional tasks as instructed

Experience

  • Prior experience in landscaping, lawn care, or horticulture is preferred
  • Mechanical knowledge related to operating landscaping machinery such as excavators and power tools is a plus
  • Familiarity with landscape maintenance techniques including tree trimming, snow plowing, and irrigation systems is desirable
  • Knowledge of gardening practices and horticulture principles will be advantageous
  • Experience working with hand tools and construction equipment is beneficial
  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions while maintaining safety standards

A valid class G driver's licence is required for this position.

Job Types: Part-time, Permanent

Pay: $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 8 – 12 per week
