Technology Architect

Role Overview

The Salesforce Technical Architect will lead the design, integration, and implementation of Salesforce solutions within a large, complex, vendor-managed environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for defining architecture approaches, integrating Salesforce with legacy and third-party systems, assessing business processes, identifying risks, and producing comprehensive technical documentation.

This role requires extensive Salesforce expertise, strong architectural leadership, and the ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders and vendors within a public-sector setting.

Scope of Work

• Define the approach for integrating Salesforce with legacy systems and third-party applications, including middleware and data flow diagrams.
• Assess business processes and existing architecture documentation to ensure alignment with technical strategy.
• Identify technical risks and propose mitigation strategies related to integration, scalability, compliance, and security.
• Develop and document high-level and detailed architecture artifacts, including data models, integration patterns, security frameworks, and system design specifications.
• Provide detailed specifications for customizations, configurations, APIs, and integration components.
• Mentor team members and guide solutions aligned with ITIL processes and enterprise architecture standards.

Assignment Deliverables

• Integration approach and data flow documentation for Salesforce + legacy/3rd-party systems.
• Assessment of business process and architecture documentation.
• Technical risk identification and mitigation plan.
• High-level and detailed architectural diagrams and models.
• Specifications for customizations, APIs, and integration components.
• Knowledge transfer documentation throughout the assignment.

Mandatory Requirements

• 5+ years Salesforce experience
• 5+ years architect experience working with vendors
• 5+ years technical architect experience

Nice-to-Have Requirements

• 5+ years of Tribunals/OPS experience

Desired Skills & Experience

• Strong understanding of the Salesforce platform and ecosystem (Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Marketing Cloud, Field Service Lightning, Data Cloud).
• Leadership experience in the development and implementation of enterprise technical architectures.
• Experience with structured methodologies for application design, development, and implementation.
• Extensive Salesforce systems analysis and design experience in large system environments.
• Knowledge of ITIL and ability to guide others using this methodology.
• Ability to translate business requirements into reporting needs and technical designs.
• Experience preparing conceptual, logical, and physical data/process models.
• Experience with CASE tools, project management tools, and emerging technology trends.
• Excellent communication, analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills with a consistent record of meeting deadlines.
• Experience producing enterprise architecture deliverables (models, diagrams, frameworks).
• Previous public-sector or government experience is an asset.

• 5+ years architecture experience
• Experience designing ITIL-based processes
• Deep knowledge of Salesforce clouds
• Proficiency in Apex, Visualforce, LWC, SOQL
• Strong understanding of integration patterns, REST/SOAP APIs, MuleSoft or similar middleware

2. Stakeholder and Vendor Management – 30 Points

• Experience designing vendor-managed implementation projects
• Experience working with multiple stakeholders in complex environments
• Awareness of emerging technologies
• Demonstrated team collaboration and deadline-driven performance

3. Architecture Experience – 20 Points

• Leadership in technical architecture development and implementation
• Experience producing enterprise architecture deliverables
• Experience translating business requirements into reporting needs
• Experience developing conceptual/logical/physical models

4. Communication Skills – 15 Points

• Strong verbal/written communication, negotiation, problem-solving
• Understanding of government processes and policy implications

5. Public Sector Experience – 5 Points

• Prior experience in government or public-sector organizations

Job Type: Fixed term contract

Contract length: 12 months

Pay: From $75.00 per hour
