We are looking for a Product Manager of Textiles & Finishes that understands the balance between design desires with practical product needs. The ideal candidate is a veteran textile and finishes guru, skilled at scoping out the latest trends, has a deep understanding of the materials' performance characteristics, and can apply them to our verticals products. Being the primary liaison with our partners and mills, the Product Manager must possess excellent communication and organizational skills. They will strongly identify with the corporate brand and work collaboratively with our internal teams to bring textile and finish programs to the North American market. The role requires someone adept at working as an individual and as a team player, liaising with colleagues across the organization.

General Accountabilities:

  • Working with existing Partners/Mills and establishing new relationships with Partners/Mills to update and add to our comprehensive collection of textiles and finishes.

  • Working closely with Product Management, Inventory, Quality & Assurance, Design and outside vendors to bring new textile and finish programs to the Canadian Market.

  • Keeping up with trends on what is new in the industry ensures that the trend and aesthetics work seamlessly with our brand and our products.

  • Understands the Product Lifecycle and recommends when it is time to add or delete to our current textile and finishes programs.

  • Managing and maintaining our existing Fabrics & Textiles programs, ensuring that they are up to date and all changes are communicated to all stakeholders.

  • Working collaboratively with our internal groups by funneling pertinent textiles and finishes information to support the creation of product briefs and the launch process.

  • Overseeing the application of textiles and finishes to our 3 verticals, healthcare, education, and the workplace.

  • Help to provide product knowledge to our sales team and customers through training sessions and customer presentations.

  • Acting as a business partner to your internal customers by answering technical questions, customer inquiries and providing bid/customer fabric recommendations.

Requirements & Skills:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Design, Commerce or holds a Textiles Special designation.

  • Minimum 5+ years working as a textile and finishes savant is preferred. Candidates with less than 5 years of exceptional experience will be considered.

  • Sales or customer service experience with a textile company or reseller is an asset.

  • Experience in an architectural and design firm, primarily responsible for specifying finishing materials is an asset.

  • Ability to present concepts, products and solutions in a professional manner.

  • Ability to work independently and with internal teams to meet deadlines.

  • Excellent organizational skills and multitasking abilities.

  • A keen eye for detail and appreciation of great design.

  • Demonstrated understanding of architecture and design.

  • Enjoys working with a diverse multidisciplinary team of creative professional.

The Product Management Dept. is a team environment. From time to time, depending on the needs of the department, this individual may be asked to assist in special marketing projects and departmental matters which may be outside of this role.

Some travel will be required.
