Build the Core Brain of a National Lending System

We are seeking a hands-on-keyboard builder to personally author and own our entire credit adjudication pipeline.

This is a blank-environment role for a senior engineer — not a management or oversight position. You will be writing production-level Python code from day one, building the full system from raw data ingestion to a live, production-ready scoring API.

You'll be working on-premise with our internal SQL data infrastructure, building reproducible pipelines that live in our internal Git repos.

Your work will not sit in a notebook. You will build, deploy, and own the core intelligence of a national-scale lending platform, working directly with the Founder.

What You Will Do (The Build)

  • Write, test, and deploy production-grade Python code for our end-to-end model pipeline: data ingestion, feature engineering, training, validation, and deployment.
  • Build and own the full, reproducible model pipeline, packaged in a version-controlled repository (Git) with all artifacts (.pkl, , ).
  • Author and deploy a simple, high-availability scoring API (Flask or FastAPI) to serve real-time model predictions.
  • Personally conduct all EDA, feature engineering (banking, bureau, behavioral data), and rigorous model validation (AUC, Gini, KS, PSI) to find and implement lift.
  • Own the entire model lifecycle — from a raw SQL query to a live, monitored API endpoint — with no handoffs.

Who You Are (The Builder Profile)

  • A true hybrid: a high-end software engineer who is also an expert credit quant.
  • A "blank environment" builder: you have 8+ years of hands-on-keyboard experience, with provable examples of building and deploying end-to-end ML systems from scratch (not just using a platform like SageMaker or Vertex AI).
  • Your instinct is to pip install, not to ask for a platform.
  • A credit-risk expert: you have deep domain experience in consumer credit risk. You fluently speak in PD, LGD, Gini, KS, and PSI, and can explain the business impact of a 5-point Gini lift.
  • A Python & SQL expert: you are fluent in Python, SQL, and the core ML stack (pandas, scikit-learn, XGBoost, LightGBM).
  • A senior individual contributor (IC): this is a coding role, not a management-track position. You are here to build the system, not manage the people who do.
