About the Role

Reporting to the Technical Product Advisor, the Associate Machine Learning Educator utilizes exceptional content development and delivery skills to help organizations and individuals grow their AI literacy and gain the necessary knowledge and skills for success in AI. The Associate Machine Learning Educator leverages their scientific knowledge to guide the exploration and development efforts of Amii's industry partners and clients, providing training, education, insight, and advice on early-stage ML development and strategy.

The position focuses on achieving excellence in three main accountabilities:

  • Client Success: Collaborate with Amii clients to build trust and drive the progress of their machine learning projects and capabilities.
  • Machine Learning Expertise: Contribute Machine Learning expertise and stay current on the application of ML/AI in a broad range of technical areas and domains.
  • Development & Delivery:

    Identify, build, maintain, and deliver engaging, relevant content that meets clients' needs in a blended learning environment.

Required Skills / Expertise

Key Responsibilities:

Client Success

  • Serves as a trusted advisor and education facilitator to Startup clients, guiding them in identifying how AI and ML tools can effectively address their business challenges
  • Leads Machine Learning Exploration workshops for Startup clients
  • Fosters a supportive learning environment that encourages exploration and growth in AI literacy
  • Provides training and guidance on machine learning concepts, strategies, and best practices
  • Develops and nurtures strong relationships with clients through effective communication and scientific excellence

Machine Learning Expertise

  • Establishes themselves firmly as a trusted subject matter expert in startup business growth practices and machine learning techniques relevant to startups
  • Advises clients on machine learning best practices and strategies to meet their objectives, enhancing client engagement
  • Contributes to a positive team environment by actively participating in meetings, brainstorming sessions and activities
  • Provides mentorship to technical peers, non-technical peers, and work integrated learning opportunity students (WILOs)
  • Represents the organization at conferences, workshops, and industry events

Development & Delivery

  • Builds and delivers high-quality educational content to enhance AI literacy for organizations and individuals
  • Facilitates group activities that encourage participation and collaboration among participants
  • Stays current on the latest advancements in AI and machine learning to ensure training materials are current and relevant
  • Gathers and reviews feedback from training participants to assess the effectiveness of educational programs

Qualifications:

  • Post Secondary Degree in Machine Learning, Education, or related field
  • 1-3+ years of applied AI experience
  • Experience in building and delivering curriculum and designing effective learning exercises
  • Proven ability to connect with diverse audiences and facilitate meaningful learning experiences
  • Proficient in eLearning systems (i.e. Rise)
  • Experience working at a startup or with startups (nice to have)
