Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Kitchen Team Member to join our dynamic food service team. This role is essential in ensuring smooth kitchen operations, preparing high-quality meals, and maintaining a clean and safe environment. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food, excellent teamwork skills, and a commitment to food safety standards. Previous restaurant or food industry experience is a plus but not required, as training will be provided.

About the Role

Join our energetic kitchen team at Chaiiwala You'll prepare menu items to restaurant standards, maintain cleanliness, and ensure every guest gets quality food fast.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare ingredients and menu items (grills, wraps, chai, etc.)
  • Follow recipes and portion guidelines
  • Maintain kitchen cleanliness & safety standards
  • Support opening/closing kitchen tasks
  • Stock and rotate inventory
  • Work well with team to ensure timely order delivery

Requirements

  • Experience in a kitchen or fast-paced environment is an asset
  • Strong work ethic and positive attitude
  • Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 25 lbs
  • Flexible schedule including weekends & evenings
  • FoodSafe certification (preferred but not required)

Responsibilities

  • Assist in meal preparation and food handling to ensure timely service
  • Support kitchen staff with cooking, plating, and food assembly
  • Maintain cleanliness of workstations, utensils, and kitchen equipment in accordance with food safety protocols
  • Follow proper food handling procedures to ensure hygiene and safety standards are met
  • Help with inventory management by organizing supplies and ingredients
  • Ensure all food is prepared according to recipes and quality standards
  • Support serving staff during busy periods to enhance customer experience
  • Adhere to all health and safety regulations within the kitchen environment

Experience

  • Previous experience in a restaurant or food service setting is preferred but not mandatory
  • Familiarity with cooking techniques, meal preparation, and food safety practices is advantageous
  • Experience with food handling, kitchen equipment, or the food industry will be beneficial
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
  • Strong teamwork skills and a positive attitude are essential for success in this role

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $17.85-$27.45 per hour

Expected hours: 17.85 per week
