An opening exists in the Trade Division for the position of Account Manager, Quebec reporting to the Senior National Account Manager.

Work Location:
This is a remote position within Canada. The chosen candidate must reside in the province of Québec.

*Primary Responsibilities*

  • Sell and market all Scholastic Trade books into the designated accounts in the province of Quebec.
  • Promote diversity, equity, and inclusion in sales and marketing strategies to strengthen Scholastic's presence across Quebec's diverse communities.
  • Manage coop tracking, comp title research, and order monitoring for designated account bases.
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with buyers, marketers, inventory teams, and other stakeholders within designated accounts to grow the business and develop new opportunities.
  • Work with the Senior National Account Manager, Quebec, to identify and advocate for promotional and merchandising opportunities, analyze results, and build sales plans for future opportunities.
  • Analyze performance of front and backlist titles and promotional programs using available POS sales data and internal systems, providing timely reports to key stakeholders.
  • Execute forecasts in Silvon/Stratum to allow for timely product estimates and strategic report analysis.
  • Leverage expertise in inclusive language and communication to build strong relationships and foster inclusion among internal and external stakeholders.
  • Effectively communicate new products, properties, advertising opportunities, promotions, displays, policies, specials, etc., to designated account bases.
  • Collaborate with internal partners, Customer Service, Operations, Marketing, and Supply Chain - regarding day-to-day business flow.
  • Update on business changes, trends, opportunities, and competition, recommending changes to improve business.
  • Actively participate in internal sales conferences and strategy meetings; build product knowledge and provide market-specific feedback.
  • Continue to build knowledge and expertise as a children's book expert and advocate for Quebec customers.

*Qualifications*

  • Post-secondary education in a related field or equivalent relevant experience
  • 3-4 years of sales, marketing, promotional and/or other relevant experience
  • Full professional fluency in both French and English
  • Must have a passion for children's books and media
  • Must have a robust understanding of the principles of equity, diversity and inclusion and is passionate about broadening representation of equity deserving communities within the Canadian media landscape
  • Experience working with POS systems
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (including PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook and Teams), and Google Suite (Google Slides, Drive)
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent organizational skills; must be driven, detail oriented with the ability to multitask effectively
  • Must have the ability to adapt to changing priorities, problem solve effectively and work well in a deadline
  • Must possess a valid driver's license
  • Willingness and ability to travel as required; some weekend/ evening work may be required on occasion

Principales responsabilités

  • Vendre et commercialiser tous les livres de Scholastic destinés aux marchés commerciaux auprès des comptes désignés dans la province de Québec.
  • Promouvoir la diversité, l'équité et l'inclusion dans les stratégies de vente et de marketing afin de renforcer la présence de Scholastic dans les communautés diversifiées du Québec.
  • Gérer le suivi des coopératives, la recherche de titres comparatifs et le suivi des commandes pour les comptes désignés.
  • Développer et entretenir de solides relations de travail avec les acheteur·ses, les spécialistes du marketing, les équipes chargées des stocks et les autres parties prenantes au sein des comptes désignés afin de développer l'entreprise et de créer de nouvelles occasions d'affaires.
  • Travailler avec la directrice des comptes nationaux responsable du Québec afin de déterminer et de favoriser les possibilités de promotion et de marchandisage, d'analyser les résultats et d'élaborer des plans de vente pour les occasions futures.
  • Analyser les performances des titres récents et anciens ainsi que des programmes promotionnels à l'aide des données POS disponibles et des systèmes internes, et fournir des rapports en temps opportun aux principales parties prenantes.
  • Exécuter des prévisions dans Silvon/Stratum afin de permettre des estimations de produits en temps opportun et l'analyse de rapports stratégiques.
  • Utiliser l'expertise en matière de communication et de langage inclusifs pour établir des relations solides et favoriser l'inclusion parmi les parties prenantes internes et externes.
  • Présenter efficacement les nouveaux produits, les propriétés, les opportunités publicitaires, les promotions, les présentoirs, les politiques, les offres spéciales, etc., aux comptes désignés.
  • Collaborer avec les partenaires internes, le service à la clientèle, les opérations, le marketing et la chaîne d'approvisionnement concernant le déroulement quotidien des opérations.
  • Mettre à jour les informations relatives aux changements commerciaux, aux tendances, aux opportunités et à la concurrence, et recommander des changements visant à renforcer les activités.
  • Participer activement aux conférences de ventes internes et aux réunions stratégiques; acquérir des connaissances sur les produits et fournir des commentaires spécifiques au marché.
  • Continuer à acquérir des connaissances et de l'expertise en tant que spécialiste des livres pour enfants et défenseur·se des intérêts des client·es québécois·es.

*Qualifications*

  • Études postsecondaires dans un domaine connexe ou expérience pertinente équivalente
  • 3 à 4 ans d'expérience dans la vente, le marketing, la promotion ou tout autre domaine pertinent.
  • Maîtrise professionnelle du français et de l'anglais
  • Passion pour la littérature et les médias pour enfants
  • Forte compréhension de la diversité, de l'équité et de l'inclusion (DEI) et capacité à élargir la qualité de la représentation des communautés méritant l'équité dans le paysage médiatique canadien
  • Expérience de travail avec les systèmes POS
