Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced individual to join our culinary team as a cook. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing and serving high-quality food in a retirement home environment. This role requires a passion for food service, strong attention to food safety, and excellent interaction skills. The cook will play a vital part in ensuring our residents receive exceptional dining experiences through efficient meal preparation and attentive service.

Duties

  • Prepare and serve food items according to established recipes and presentation standards
  • Assist with food preparation, including chopping, mixing, and assembling dishes
  • Cook menu items with consistency, quality, and adherence to safety guidelines
  • Handle food safely by following proper storage, handling, and sanitation procedures
  • Maintain cleanliness of kitchen and dining areas throughout shifts
  • Follow all health and safety regulations related to food industry standards
  • Assist in inventory management by rotating stock and notifying management of supply needs

Experience

  • Previous experience in food service, restaurant, or kitchen environments preferred
  • Knowledge of food handling, safety protocols, and meal preparation techniques required
  • Familiarity with the food industry standards for cleanliness and sanitation
  • Experience with cooking or food preparation is highly desirable
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a busy setting

Pay: $18.60-$19.00 per hour
