Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada Aaron's Painting Full time

Want to become the cabinet finishing specialist on a high-end team? Join Aaron's Painting Company.

Cabinet Painter & Spray Finishing Specialist

$28–$32/hr + Performance Bonuses | Full-Time | Metro Vancouver

Read this carefully. Most painters should not apply.

Aaron's Painting Company is hiring one skilled cabinet painter and spray expert to lead our in-home cabinet refinishing projects.

This is not basic wall painting.

This is not fast production spraying.

This is not a job for someone who "mostly paints walls but has used a sprayer a few times."

This role is for a detail-obsessed painter who understands fine finishes, tight prep, and clean spray work inside occupied homes.

If you take pride in flawless finishes, work well independently, and want to become the go-to cabinet specialist on a professional team, this will feel like a serious step forward in your career.

If you rush prep, struggle with dust control, or get sloppy under time pressure, this role will expose you quickly.

Who This Is For

You'll thrive here if you:

  • Have 2+ years of professional painting experience, including spray work
  • Have experience spraying doors, millwork, or cabinetry (professional or high-level DIY)
  • Care deeply about surface prep, masking, and finish quality
  • Work well independently and manage your time responsibly
  • Can stay focused for long periods doing detailed, repetitive finish work
  • Communicate clearly with homeowners in a respectful, professional way
  • Want to master a specialized, high-value skill set

You'll hate this role if you:

  • Prefer fast production over precision
  • Leave overspray, dust, or rough prep behind
  • Need constant supervision to stay organized
  • Get frustrated working solo for parts of the day
  • Struggle to keep a clean and controlled work environment

About Aaron's Painting Company

We are a premium residential painting company serving Metro Vancouver. Our cabinet refinishing division focuses on in-home cabinet transformations where protection, cleanliness, and finish quality must meet a higher standard than typical painting projects.

Our reputation is built on:

  • Professional, respectful service inside clients' homes
  • Meticulous prep and refined spray finishes
  • Clean, controlled work environments
  • Clear scopes, realistic timelines, and strong systems
  • Long-term client relationships and referrals

We don't compete on price.

We compete on craftsmanship and professionalism.

The Role (What You'll Actually Be Doing)

As our Cabinet Painter & Spray Specialist, you will be the lead painter on cabinet refinishing projects.

You will:

  • Lead the on-site execution of our in-home cabinet painting process
  • Handle detailed prep, masking, and protection of kitchens and millwork
  • Spray cabinet doors, drawer fronts, and frames to a high finish standard
  • Work independently for much of the project, with part-time support from a helper on larger days
  • Manage your workflow, drying times, and daily production goals
  • Maintain an exceptionally clean and organized work area
  • Communicate professionally with homeowners throughout the project

You will receive on-the-job training in our specific cabinet process and systems. We will teach you how we do things — but you must already bring strong spray fundamentals and a high standard for detail.

Core Responsibilities

  • Detailed surface prep: cleaning, degreasing, sanding, filling, and masking
  • Set-up and maintenance of a controlled spray environment inside homes
  • Fine-finish spray application on cabinet components
  • Managing dry times, recoat windows, and daily production pacing
  • Protecting floors, counters, and adjacent surfaces meticulously
  • Daily jobsite cleanliness and dust control
  • Equipment care and spray system maintenance
  • Clear communication with clients and management

Non-Negotiable Requirements

  • Professional painting experience with spray application
  • Strong attention to detail and finish quality
  • Ability to work independently and manage your own pace
  • Reliable vehicle to transport tools and equipment
  • Legally eligible to work in Canada
  • Physically capable of lifting, bending, and working on your feet for extended periods
  • Pride in doing precise, careful work — even when no one is watching

Compensation & Benefits

  • $28–$32/hr depending on spray skill, experience, and reliability
  • Performance bonuses tied to efficiency, quality, and staying on budget
  • On-the-job training in a high-end cabinet refinishing system
  • Commuting allowance for out-of-town projects
  • Extended health and dental benefits after 3 months

This structure rewards specialists who deliver beautiful finishes efficiently and consistently.

Why You Should Work Here (If You're the Right Person)

  • You develop a specialized, high-value skill set
  • You work in organized, controlled environments — not chaotic job sites
  • Clients respect the level of care required for this work
  • Clear systems and support from management
  • Less rework, more pride in the finished result
  • Opportunity to become the long-term cabinet finishing lead

Great cabinet finishers are rare. We treat this role like the specialist position it is.
