We are seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Tax Preparer to join our financial services team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate tax returns for individual and business clients, ensuring compliance with current tax laws and regulations. Duties
- Prepare federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals, small businesses, and corporations using accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, and other relevant tools.
- Conduct thorough analysis of financial documents to identify applicable deductions and credits.
- Review client financial statements, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and bookkeeping records.
- Perform account reconciliation to ensure accuracy of financial data.
- Assist clients with tax planning strategies and provide recommendations based on their financial situations.
- Stay updated on current tax laws and regulations to ensure compliance and optimize tax benefits.
- Support auditing processes by providing necessary documentation and analysis as required.
- Maintain organized records of all tax-related documents for future reference and audits.
Requirements
- Proven experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, or similar platforms.
- Strong analysis skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
- Knowledge of auditing procedures, account reconciliation, budgeting, and bookkeeping practices.
- Familiarity with financial services including investment management and payroll processing is a plus.
- Excellent attention to detail to ensure accuracy in all tax preparation tasks.
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple client files efficiently.
- Relevant certifications or prior experience in accounting or tax preparation preferred but not required.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
