Job Description

We're seeking a Controller to join our automotive industry client in Mount Pearl, NL. As a key member of the finance team, the successful candidate will oversee all accounting procedures while managing a team of driven professionals. This is a permanent, full-time role offering career growth opportunities and is ideal for an experienced accountant who thrives in a collaborative and engaging environment.  

Key Responsibilities for the Job: 

  • Maintain an accurate General Ledger
  • Perform bank, credit card, and GST reconciliations
  • F&I remittances and levy payments
  • Bi-monthly payroll submission
  • Month-end analysis
  • Financial reporting
  • Manage and oversee PA and AR
  • Staff management and mentorship
  • Other reporting and accounting projects as required

Experience & Attributes for Success: 

  • CPA or related designation in good standing is required
  • Post-secondary education in accounting or business; or equivalent combination of training and experience
  • 5+ years' experience performing full cycle accounting
  • Previous experience in the truck/trailer, automotive or equipment industry is preferred
  • Comprehensive understanding of MS Office Suite and the ability to learn internal programs and software's efficiently
  • Effective leadership and management capabilities with a trust worthy, ethical, and reliable work ethic
  • Efficient and effective time management skills to meet deadlines
  • Strong communication skills and ability to develop professional relationships
  • Adaptable and flexible with a positive and personable demeanour
