JOB DESCRIPTION – Retail Category Buyer
POSITION SUMMARY
Reporting to the General Manager, The Retail Category Buyer will be responsible for the day to day purchasing activities associated with the Retail division. This includes maintaining and developing relationships with key vendors, inventory management, and promotion of the category via the marketing planner.
JOB SCOPE – DUTIES
· Replenishment of Retail product lines using K3S software.
· Maintain control of retail inventories related to your lines from the sell through perspective, including addressing dating issues, turnover, vendor credits, markdowns etc.
· Work with suppliers on planning of monthly deal sheets and seasonal buy in periods.
· Development of seasonal planners in coordination with sales department.
· Work closely with sales on the buy and sell of liquidation and other opportunities.
· Key account co-ordination.
Job Skills and Qualifications
· Post-secondary education in business, supply chain, or a related field preferred.
· 2-5 years of purchasing or buying experience.
· Strong negotiation and vendor management skills
· Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
· Proficient in ERP systems, inventory management software, and Microsoft Excel.
· Strong communication and organizational skills.
· Ability to manage priorities in a fast-paced environment.
· Data analysis and reporting.
