System Control Centre Co-op

This position will provide on the job leadership, support, and oversight to the SCC team. This role will also support the SCC staff and leadership team performing tasks, assisting on technical projects and being involved in the improvements to SCC service delivery and work management. This may include, but is not limited to policies, procedures, systems.
The Co-op Student would join our team based in Ajax with the placement to last up to 12-16 months (preferably 16 months).
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- A student resource would assist in supporting the Supervisor, System Control Centre in the querying, gathering, analyzing, and reporting of data necessary for meeting regulatory requirements and improving business unit effectiveness.
- Query data and extract the necessary information for consolidation.
- Review, analyze and present for feedback.
- Develop reports and presentations for the business unit to make better decisions on short- and long-term intervals.
- Support in the administrative duties of the Supervisor, SCC.
- Other duties as outlined by the Supervisor, SCC.
KEY SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook, etc.).
- Excellent organizational, communication and verbal skills with a strong commitment to customer service.
- Ability to exercise independent judgment and perform all assigned duties with minimal supervision.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Enrolled in a post-secondary Electrical Engineering or Technician program with a focus on Power Systems, or Sustainable Energy
