Project Controls Lead

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Project Controls Lead to oversee and enhance the project controls function across the Definition and Execution phases of a major infrastructure project. In this role, you will lead a dedicated project controls team, manage cost and change control, and ensure all systems and processes align with client requirements and best practices.

What You'll Do:

Project Controls & Leadership

  • Develop, implement, and maintain the Project Controls framework throughout the Definition and Execution phases.
  • Lead and mentor the project controls team to ensure consistent delivery and high-quality reporting.
  • Oversee change management, cost control, and budget tracking activities.
  • Manage project information systems and related processes.

Work Breakdown Structure (WBS)

  • Structure all schedules, budgets, progress updates, payment requests, and accrual reports according to the approved WBS.

Schedule Management

  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive, multi-layer project schedule aligned with client milestones, control accounts, and work packages.
  • Define resource requirements at Levels 2 and 3 across all contract types.
  • Provide native scheduling files as required by the client.

Cost Management

  • Prepare and submit Oncore job set forms or Ecosys versions in line with the WBS dictionary.

Risk Management

  • Develop and maintain the project risk profile, identifying risks and opportunities with detailed assessments of probability and impact.
  • Prepare and implement a comprehensive Risk Management Plan.
  • Ensure alignment with the client's Project Risk Management Manual and procedures.

Requirements:

  • 15+ years of experience in project delivery
  • Minimum 5 years in project controls.
  • Proven experience leading controls functions on complex infrastructure projects—ideally large-scale tunneling projects.
  • Strong understanding of Risk Management for Tunnel Works.
  • CRM certification considered an asset.
  • Experience in marine works is an advantage.
  • Fluent English communication skills (written and spoken).
