Small Business Payroll Consultant

We are looking for a highly motivated and results-driven Small Business Payroll Consultant to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for driving revenue by promoting and selling our comprehensive managed and self-service payroll services, HR solutions, and related offerings to small and medium-sized businesses across Canada. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of experience working in a payroll company and possess a thorough understanding of Canadian government regulations, including EI, taxation, CPP, and other payroll-related laws. Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct market research to identify potential clients and understand their unique payroll and HR needs.
- Develop and execute targeted sales strategies to promote our managed and self-service payroll services, HR solutions, workers' compensation, time & attendance systems, and employee benefits.
- Reach out to prospects through cold calling, networking, referrals, and in-person canvassing to generate leads and close sales.
- Collaborate with the internal marketing team to leverage campaigns, events, and prospecting activities for sustainable lead generation.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key referral sources, including stakeholders, banks, financial advisors, and other strategic partners.
- Meet or exceed sales targets by providing tailored payroll solutions that address the specific needs of each business.
- Deliver impactful sales pitches and product demonstrations, highlighting the value and benefits of our payroll services.
- Provide initial training and onboarding support to new clients, ensuring a smooth transition and high adoption rates.
- Address customer inquiries, resolve issues, and provide ongoing support to ensure client satisfaction.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date customer and sales data within our CRM system for effective prospecting and follow-ups.
- Keep clients informed about the latest company updates, new services, and industry trends.
- Represent the company at trade shows, conventions, and networking events to promote our payroll and HR solutions.
- Manage the entire sales process, from initial contact to closing deals, including preparing pricing quotes and sales contracts.
- Actively contribute to the implementation of the company's marketing plans and sales strategies.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience working in a payroll company, with a focus on selling payroll services, HR solutions, or SaaS-based products.
- Comprehensive knowledge of Canadian government regulations, including EI, taxation, CPP, and other payroll-related laws and compliance requirements.
- Proven track record of achieving sales targets and building long-term client relationships.
- Strong understanding of SaaS sales strategies and the ability to effectively communicate the value of technology-driven solutions.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with a consultative sales approach.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with CRM systems and maintaining detailed prospecting and sales records.
- Willingness to travel for business development purposes, including attending trade shows, networking events, and client meetings.
- A bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field is preferred but not mandatory for highly qualified candidates.
