Other responsibilities will include the maintenance of the pool and beach area to ensure safety and ease of use.ResponsibilitiesSupervise assigned areas to ensure the safety of swimmersEnsure that all rules and regulations are adhered to and enforcedProvide first aid treatment as requiredTeach swim lessons or Aquafit classes as requiredUpdate the pool log by recording and documenting any incidents, completing water tests and bather countsOpen and close the pool, ensuring the safety of all participants while in the poolMaintain direct contact with patrons and communicate with them in an effective mannerMonitor designated pool and beach areasResponsible for maintaining the cleanliness of the pool deck area, change rooms, shower areas and beach frontEnsure equipment is stored in its proper place, pick up towels and debris, restock towels and straighten chairsConduct facility inspections, complete checklists and advise leader of any concerns foundAssist guests with questions regarding the resort, activities and general informationAssist in other areas of the Recreation and Leisure departmentWelcome and acknowledge each guest with a smile, eye contact and a friendly verbal greeting using the guests' names when possibleCompliance with all safety regulations of assigned tasks, and ensure a clean and safe working environment with active participation in the health and safety programAdhere to all environmental policies and programs as requiredOther duties as assignedRequirementsCurrent National Lifeguard Service's certificate (dated 2 years or less)Standard First Aid with CPR C certificationWaterfront NLS an assetSmartServe certification an assetORCKA and/or Pleasure Craft Operators Card an assetAquafit and swim instructor certifications an assetMust possess excellent customer service skills and be able to work as part of a teamStrong verbal and written communication skillsDetail-oriented and works with a high degree of accuracyAbility to multi-task in a fast-paced environmentMust be extremely responsible with integrity and ability to maintain confidentiality and discretionWorking ConditionsMust be able to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends and holidaysMust be able to work in hot, humid or cold environmentsRequired to move, lift, carry, pull and place objects weighing less than or equal to 25 pounds without assistanceSignificant exposure to varying weather conditionsStand, sit or walk for an extended period or for an entire shiftReach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting and pullingMove over sloping, uneven or slippery surfacesJoin our team and make every day feel like Friday. *All candidates must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
