About the opportunity:

The QA Automation Engineer Intern will work closely with product engineering teams to help ensure the quality, reliability, and release readiness of customer-facing applications. In addition to building and maintaining automated UI and API tests, the intern will be responsible for creating and maintaining clear QA documentation, including test plans, test cases, automation guidelines, and release readiness notes. The role will also focus on improving CI test signal and partnering with engineers to document testing strategies that make features more testable and resilient. This is an excellent opportunity to join a fast-moving team within Dayforce, gain hands-on experience with modern test automation and documentation practices, and contribute directly to production-quality software by reducing regressions, improving knowledge sharing, and increasing confidence in releases.

What you'll get to do:

  • Build and maintain end-to-end UI tests using Playwright.
  • Add API and integration tests for services.
  • Improve CI signal: reduce flaky tests, speed up runs, tighten reporting.

  • Help define what "doneˮ means: test plans, coverage, and release checks.

What you'll learn and experience:

  • Real ownership of a test suite that ships to production.
  • Mentorship on automation patterns, debugging, and CI reliability.
  • A clear output: measurable increases in coverage and fewer regressions.

  • Strong attention to detail, with a thoughtful approach to investigating and resolving flaky test failures.

What would really make you stand out:

  • CI experience (GitHub Actions or similar)
  • SQL basics and comfort working with relational data.
