Heavy Equipment Technician (Apprentice or Journeyperson)

Full-Time | Shop & Field-Based

We are seeking motivated and dedicated Heavy Equipment Technicians to join our team at DMR Diesel, an Aboriginal-owned, family-oriented, and fast-paced company. This position offers a combination of shop-based work and field service, providing exposure to a wide variety of equipment and an excellent environment for skill development.

Whether you are progressing through your apprenticeship or already fully ticketed, this role provides strong opportunities to grow, gain hands-on experience, and work toward or build upon your Journeyperson certification. As part of our Service Team, you will play an essential role in ensuring equipment remains safe, reliable, and operational.

We offer a minimum 40-hour work week, with overtime available.

Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and inspect equipment for faults and malfunctions
  • Repair, adjust, and replace defective components as required
  • Perform inspections, preseason repair lists, and running repairs
  • Complete work orders and record detailed technician notes in the computer system
  • Follow all occupational health and safety standards, supporting our commitment to employee safety and wellbeing

Job Requirements

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Fluent in English (written and verbal)
  • Third-year Heavy Equipment Technician apprentice or higher preferred
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities
  • Willingness to obtain CVIP certification after completing apprenticeship (asset)

Pay: $33.00-$39.00 per hour
