Freelance User Experience (UX) Designer Location: Remote Type: Freelance / Contract (10–20 hrs/week to start) Reports To: Creative Director / Product Strategist Compensation: Hourly or Project-Based (based on experience & scope)About Produktiv Produktiv is a product marketing and venture studio that helps startups and digital-first companies build standout brands, experiences, and go-to-market engines. We're hiring a Freelance UX Designer who can turn messy problems into smooth, intuitive user experiences. You'll work closely with product marketers, visual designers, and clients to shape flows, prototypes, and user journeys across landing pages, onboarding experiences, and product interfaces. This isn't just wireframes — it's systems-level thinking, testing, and building UX that performs. What You'll Do UX Strategy & Research
  • Lead or assist in user research efforts — interviews, surveys, heatmaps, or usability tests.
  • Translate insights into clear personas, journey maps, and UX goals.
  • Define problems and hypotheses collaboratively with strategists and product teams.
Design Systems & Prototyping
  • Design and manage component-based design systems in Figma, ensuring consistency across brands and products.
  • Create wireframes, mockups, and hi-fidelity interactive prototypes for:
  • Web experiences (landing pages, sign-up flows)
  • Onboarding journeys
  • Lightweight product UIs or dashboards
  • Document interaction guidelines and UX principles for dev handoff or stakeholder buy-in.
User Testing & Validation
  • Plan and execute usability testing sessions (remote or async).
  • Analyze performance using tools like Hotjar, Maze, FullStory, or session recordings.
  • Iterate designs based on feedback, data, and conversion performance.
Design Sprints & Problem Solving
  • Facilitate or participate in fast-paced design sprints and co-creation workshops.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with writers, devs, and stakeholders to solve UX problems creatively.
  • Deliver recommendations backed by both research and experimentation.
Who You Are
  • 3–5+ years experience in UX or product design — preferably in startup, SaaS, or agency settings.
  • Expert in Figma, with experience creating and scaling component libraries and design systems.
  • Proficient in UX research, usability testing, and journey mapping.
  • Analytical mindset — you enjoy diving into metrics and user behavior.
  • Collaborative, curious, and comfortable with both structure and ambiguity.
  • Bonus: experience with tools like Notion, Webflow, Framer, Miro, Maze, or Looker Studio.
Bonus Points
  • Experience running design sprints or workshops (remotely or in person).
  • Familiarity with CRO, onboarding flows, or B2B funnel optimization.
  • Experience designing for developer handoff or working closely with devs.
  • Motion/interaction design knowledge (Protopie, Lottie, or Framer Motion).
