Construction Superintendentis responsible for overseeing all construction activities on a data center project featuring advanced High Performance Computing technologies, uninterruptible power supply (UPS) systems, and redundant power infrastructures. This role ensures that all , installed, tested, and commissioned to meet project requirements, industry standards, and operational reliability demands. The Construction Superintendent will collaborate with internal teams, contractors, and vendors to drive quality, safety, and efficiency across the project lifecycle.

Job requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • 7+ years of experience in electrical construction management, preferably in mission-critical environments (data centers, hospitals, or similar).
  • Strong understanding of UPS systems, generators, switchgear, PDUs, redundant A/B power distribution, and liquid cooling technologies.
  • Proven track record in managing large-scale electrical construction projects from design through commissioning.
  • Knowledge of applicable codes and standards (CEC, NFPA, etc.).
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple contractors and ensure alignment with project goals.

Preferred Experience

  • Prior experience in data center construction and commissioning.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or PMP certification a plus.

Job responsibilities

  • Project Oversight: Manage the planning, execution, and delivery of all construction activities for data center projects, including power distribution, UPSsystems and redundant electrical infrastructure.
  • Technical Leadership: Review and interpret electrical design documents, review and interpret Civil design, single-line diagrams, specifications, and submittals to ensure compliance with project requirements and industry best practices.
  • Coordination: Interface with mechanical, civil, and IT/Network teams to ensure seamless integration of electrical and Mechanical with data center operations.
  • Vendor & Contractor Management: Supervise and coordinate subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers, ensuring timely delivery and quality installation
  • Commissioning & Testing: Oversee testing, inspection, and commissioning of electrical systems, including UPS, generators, switchgear, and redundant power paths, ensuring reliability and uptime targets are met.
  • Safety & Compliance: Ensure all electrical equipment, work adheres to NFPA, CSA and local codes, as well as internal safety and quality standards.
  • Scheduling & Budget Control: Track progress, manage schedules ensure project milestones are achieved within budget and timeline.
  • Risk Management:Identify and mitigate risks related to electrical infrastructure, redundancy, and system reliability.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Provide clear updates to project leadership, clients, and stakeholders on progress, challenges, and solutions.
