Reporting to the Campus Manager, Muskoka Campus, the incumbent develops and delivers courses in the Construction Techniques program. Courses may be scheduled Wednesday's and delivered during the day at Muskoka Campus.  Specific duties include, but are not limited to:


•    Delivers courses in the Construction Techniques program related to natural gas appliances and installation

•    Develops and delivers appropriate curriculum to meet course objectives 

•    Incorporates a variety of teaching / learning strategies to meet student needs

•    Evaluates student progress / achievement

•    Participates in program and college activities as required

•    Participates in program revisions and renewal activities as required

•    Creates and maintains a positive learning environment

QUALIFICATIONS:


•    Valid TSSA Gas Technician 2 or Gas Technician 1 Certificate 

•    A minimum of 5 years of experience in the gas industry, working in areas such as installation, maintenance, repair, inspection, or design of gas systems. 

•    Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

•    A commitment to life-long learning

•    Computer literacy: Microsoft Office along with a high level of comfort level with learning new software such as student learning management systems and various teaching delivery applications.

•    Proven ability to work in a team environment and to foster the same in students.

•    Experience in some or all of the following is an asset: curriculum development, a variety of delivery strategies, learning methodologies, academic advising and student success strategies.

•    Teaching and Training Adults certification and / or experience in a teaching or training capacity is an asset

Acceptable proof of education (degrees, credentials) from recognized post-secondary institutions or confirmation of international equivalencies will be required as part of the selection process.
