Northwood Painting Co. is a locally owned and operated company that offers interior and exterior painting to the residential and commercial sectors throughout Muskoka. We are hiring staff for the roles of:

  • Painter
  • Painter/Site Supervisor

Both positions are starting in May 2026.

We have both seasonal and year-round positions available. Seasonal dates are from May-Aug (with the option to extend to October if the candidate is available). Pay will vary depending on experience and availability.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate is someone who enjoys working outdoors in team environments. Our staff is primarily made up of energetic young people who enjoy working together in teams to complete projects. Staff primarily work outdoors from May to October and inside from November to April.

No previous painting experience is required for the Painter position. A minimum of 1 year experience is required for the Painter/Site Supervisor position. Experience with a paint sprayer is considered an asset.

All working at heights and ladder safety training will be provided at the start of the summer. Applicants should be comfortable at heights.

Typical Duties

  • Paint interior and exterior walls, doors, trim and other parts of clients buildings.
  • Prepare surfaces when needed by scraping, sanding, puttying, caulking, priming and taping.
  • Maneuver and work confidently with ladders and scaffolding.
  • Work as a team member to see projects through to completion.
  • Setup and cleanup job sites on a daily basis.
  • Working hours are Mon - Fri, 8:00 - 4:30.
  • Having your own transportation is an asset as crews meet on site for 8:00.
  • Carpooling arrangements can be made and gas money is provided to those who drive.
  • Supervisor Duties include:
  • Communicate professionally with home-owners while on site to address any concerns
  • directing and assisting staff on site with various tasks
  • Ensuring sufficient supplies are available throughout the day/week
  • Providing daily progress updates
